We are always looking for great people to join our team regardless of open positions.

How do I get paid?

Avant gives all Protégé Service providers up to one year hourly when they first come to work for us. At the end of the year you will go on commission. Our Commission is a Performance Based Pay that measures and rewards individual performance. All Avant Employees are taught that Retail per Ticket Sale leads to Retention leads to Productivity.  They are also measured and paid from Tier One (40%) thru Tier Five (55%) on these measurements. From the time someone comes to work for us they should have the sense of Urgency. The degree to which one takes responsibility to develop and work the systems we teach, will determine your future.

What is a wellness day?

AVANT strives to be a center for health and well being for all its internal and external customers.  Proper rest, relaxation and rejuvenation are essential for us to maintain the service quality we want to provide for our guests.  After 1 year of employment, full-time employees are eligible for paid wellness days.

Paid wellness days will be accrued for any eligible employee who is present and on time for work for 1 quarter of a calendar year (3 months). An employee’s eligibility will be based on the calendar quarter’s attendance.  An employee must have not missed any work the previous quarter in order to be eligible for wellness pay.  Eight paid hours can be earned quarterly, for a total of 32 hours yearly. Wellness days must be used within one year of being awarded.

What is your dress code?

Our business is image; fashion in hair and in personal grooming. It is only logical that we project an image, which is neat, clean, fashionable and current in our own hair, grooming, and clothing.  Although we each have our personal styles, keep in mind that we are in a public industry, we should dress in a manner that reflects the products, services and prices that we represent. Employee dress should be neat in appearance and in a manner consistent with a professional atmosphere. The impression made on customers, visitors, and other employees and the need to promote company and employee safety should be kept in mind.
Jeans are allowed on Fridays and/or Saturdays.

Can I cut and color?

All of our salon professionals specialize in either hair color or hair cutting.

How soon can I expect to be on the floor?

The training program is self paced and varies from employee to employee. Most cutting trainees finish their program in  3-6 months, color trainees in
9 –12 months, spa trainees in 2- 4 months.
All trainees are required to attend hands-on  and theory classes on Mondays. You will be given a day off in the middle of the week.
After completing basic training you are required to do services on about 30 live models. Live models are clients paying reduced prices for their services.
It is your responsibility to find your clients for these services.
The sooner you complete model haircuts / color / spa services the sooner you will be on the floor.

What is the difference between mentors and instructors?

Mentors are not necessarily your instructors. We carefully choose your mentors – they are the best of the best at Avant. Mentors are there to teach you customer service, professionalism and Avant systems by  example, while instructor’s main focus is technical training.

Can I take Saturdays off?

Everybody is expected to work 8 hr shift on Saturdays, since it is the busiest day in this industry.

Do you have Salon Meetings?

Meetings are held monthly in your employment location. These meetings are extremely important. All employees are encouraged to participate and communicate. Meetings start promptly and all staff should be seated and ready for the meeting at that time.

Which location will I work at?

We will keep your preferences in mind, however you will be expected to work at the location we need you most.
